Course Description

LAUNCHING 12/1/2025!

Plot the TOT: Collaboration as the Driving Force for Optimal Outcomes is an interdisciplinary course designed for healthcare professionals addressing tethered oral tissues (TOTs). Led by speech-language pathologist Autumn Henning, MS, CCC-SLP, COM®, IBCLC, and pediatric dentist Dr. Ann Bynum, this course guides participants in implementing the E3 Model of Care® — Evaluate, Educate, Execute — a structured, collaborative framework for identifying and managing TOTs in patients of all ages.

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the anatomical, functional, and developmental impacts of oral restrictions, the importance of coordinated team care, and evidence-based intervention strategies before and after surgical release. Through detailed case studies of infants, children, and adults, learners will discover how multidisciplinary collaboration optimizes outcomes in feeding, speech, sleep, and overall health. It covers the complete patient pathway including referral, evaluation, treatment, surgical procedures, and follow-up.

This course empowers clinicians to strengthen interprofessional relationships, improve diagnostic precision, and provide patient-centered, functional care that enhances quality of life across the lifespan.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Classify tongue, lip and buccal ties

• List the goals and rationale for therapy prior to surgical intervention
